Tight security for hotels chosen for talks

Fool proof security arrangements are being made in and around the three five star hotels chosen for the stay of the Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee during the summit talks at Agra on July 15 and 16.

"While Musharraf and Begum Sahiba along with top Pakistani officials would stay at Oberoi's Amar Vilas, Vajpayee would stay Jay Pee's Palace Hotel and the media at Welcome Group's Mughal Sheraton," the city police commissioner S N Jha said.

"The security for these hotels would be taken over by the personnel of Special Protection Group and National Security Guards from July 13 till July 16," he added.

The administration plans to press into service around 20 companies of armed guards from Provincial Armed Constabulary and Central Reserve Police Force, Jha said.
