The Gujarat government has set up an external aid coordination cell to channelise the huge amount of aid that is pouring in for the victims of the earthquake.

Headed by S K Shelat, ex-chief secretary and adviser to the chief minister, the cell is located at NRG Bhavan, Circuit House annexe, Shahibaug, Ahmedabad.

Prime Minister's relief fund:
Contributions to the Fund can be deposited in select branches of the Central Bank of India, State Bank of India, Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Syndicate Bank and the Punjab National Bank through cheques or bank drafts in favour of the 'Prime Minister's National Relief Fund'. Indian Airlines and Alliance Air will operate additional flights from Delhi and Bombay to Gujarat.

Flight CD 8147 will leave Mumbai at 0545 hours and reach Bhuj at 0650.
Flight CD 8150 will leave Bhuj at 0720 hours and reach Ahmedabad at 0805 hours.
Flight CD 8149 will leave Ahmedabad at 0835 hours and reach Bhuj at 0915 hours.
Flight CD 8148 will leave Bhuj at 0945 hours and reach Bombay at 1050 hours.

The two airlines have also announced free carriage of relief material. All consignments of relief materials from state and central government agencies, PSUs, Indian missions abroad will be accepted by the cargo offices of the airlines throughout the network and transported to cities in Gujarat by the first available service.

Two control rooms have also been set up to provide information. In Bombay, the telephone numbers are 022 615 6367 and 022 615 6526, while the Delhi numbers are 011 4655721 and 011 7765652.

Vijay Amritraj, India's veteran tennis champion and a global business leader, has announced an immediate online vehicle for financial contributions to the Gujarat Earhquake Relief Fund.
