Pandemonium in WB assembly on opening day

The West Bengal assembly was plunged into bedlam on the opening day of the budget session Monday with opposition Trinamul Congress, Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party and Jharkhand Party members obstructing Governor Viren J Shah from making his speech.

Some Congress members even blocked the Governor's way after he finished his address forcing him to walk down to Raj Bhavan from the assembly.

The opposition members took position in the Well of the House before the it met for the day. As soon as the Governor entered the assembly hall, they blocked his way shouting slogans against the ruling Left Front.

Watch and ward staff of the Assembly had a trying time to make way for the Governor to reach the podium. Some opposition members were seen jostling with them.
