Fresh IT demand notice to Laloo: PTI

The income-tax department has served a fresh demand notice to Rashtriya Janata Dal president Laloo Prasad Yadav for suppressing taxable income, sources said on Wednesday.

The notice for payment of Rs 18 lakh was served to Yadav a few days ago for concealment of income between the assessment years 1991-92 and 1996-97, the sources said.

Earlier, demand notices for Rs 1.19 crore, including two per cent monthly interest, were issued to the RJD leader for concealment of taxable earnings, they said.

Yadav has already been chargesheeted by the Central Bureau of Investigation in a disproportionate assets case, which is an offshoot of the multi-crore fodder scam.
