15 pilgrims killed, 25 injured in Bihar road mishap

At least 15 pilgrims, including six women were killed on the spot and 25 others injured when a bus carrying them plunged into a rivulet near Aura village in Bihar's Aurangabad district late Tuesday night, police said Wednesday.

Director General of Police R R Prasad told PTI that the accident occurred when the driver of the chartered bus lost control and the vehicle plummeted 30 feet into the rivulet after crashing into the barrier of a bridge.

All the deceased belonged to Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh and were returning from a pilgrimage to Deoghar and Rajgir.

Prasad said all the wounded, including 14 women were admitted to Magadh medical college hospital at Gaya and Aurangabad Sadar hospital.
