Mauritian PM confident of a 'fruitful' visit

Mauritius Prime Minister Anerood Jugnauth Tuesday said he was confident that his visit to India would be successful.

"Whenever I have visited India, it has been very successful," he told reporters after a ceremonial reception at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan.

"I am sure this visit will also be good and fruitful," he said.

After being received by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Jugnauth inspected an inter-services guard of honour.

Jugnauth arrived in New Delhi Monday on a ten-day visit, his first bilateral one abroad after coming to power last September.

He will call on President K R Narayanan and the prime minister later in the day and is likely to hold talks with Indian leaders on cooperation in the field of Information Technology.
