Fog hits Delhi flight
schedules again: PTI

Flight schedules at Delhi airport were thrown out of gear since early Monday as the airport was closed on account of low visibility due to dense fog enveloping the city.

"There was no flight operation since 0800 hours IST," an airport official said, adding that the thick blanket of fog reduced the runway visibility range to an all time low of 50 metres at 0800 hours.

Though everything was perfect and flight schedules were normal up to 0730 hours, the sudden dense fog forced the authorities to close the airport from 0800 hours, he said.

Meanwhile, icy winds continued to lash the national capital, intensifying the cold wave.

Vehicles moved at snail's pace with headlights on and school-going children had a tough time in reaching their institutions.
