CBI raids on sales tax officials in Delhi

In a late night operation, Central Bureau of Investigation sleuths carried out simultaneous raids at the residences and offices of several sales tax officials across the capital and recovered unaccounted cash and property and investment documents amounting to millions of rupees, agency sources said.

Cases of disproportionate assets have been registered against eight officials of the department, the sources said.

The raids followed the arrest of a sales tax official by the Anti-corruption Bureau on Friday. Saturday's raids were based on the information given out by this official.
