No invitation to Musharraf to visit India: Mishra

Sunil Gatade in Bali (Indonesia)

India has not extended any invitation to Pakistani military ruler Gen. Pervez Musharraf to visit New Delhi, Principal Secretary to the prime minister Brajesh Mishra said on Friday.

"So far as I am aware and I should be aware, there is no consideration at the moment of any summit level meeting between India and Pakistan," Mishra, who is accompanying Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his visit to Indonesia, told reporters in Bali.

He was reacting to a report in a Pakistani newspaper, which said Musharraf would visit New Delhi later this month for talks with Vajpayee.

"I don't rule out a summit meeting sometime in the future," Mishra said adding it was not under consideration at this moment.

Asked whether the ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir till January 26 would continue beyond that, he said it will be decided after reviewing the situation.
