Laloo Task Force warns IT officials

The Laloo Task Force has issued a 'warning' to Income-Tax Department officials of Bihar.

Some income-tax officials involved in the assessment of property of Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Laloo Yadav dismissed the threat as "routine occupational hazards" and a "non-serious act of some individuals who have nothing to do with Laloo".

Pamphlet pasted at several spots in the Income-Tax building in Patna read: Beware Income-Tax! Withdraw all false and concocted cases levelled against the pioneer of social justice Honourable Laloo Prasad Yadav.

The income-tax employees noticed the pamphlets pasted on the main gate and at various points in the Central Revenue Building on Wednesday.

Though the pamphlets do not talk of a threat to anyone, some officials were concerned. However, one of them involved in the Laloo assessment case laughed it away, saying that there was no need for panic.

"I have even received telephone calls, but no one has harmed me," he told rediff.com.

The handout claims that the taskforce came into existence on January 6. It carries the name of Anil Kumar Yadav, who claims to be an advocate.

However, it could not be ascertained whether Yadav is a high court or lower court lawyer here.

Sources close to the income-tax authorities dismissed this as a publicity stunt.

Then commissioner, income-tax (appeals), Jugnu Sahay, received several threats while hearing the case of Laloo and armed police were deployed at his office.
