Judge allows release of 'Chori Chori Chupke Chupke'

The special court hearing film financier Bharat Shah's appeal against his detention under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act ordered on Monday the release of the Hindi film, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke.

Negatives of the film had been seized in December last after its producer Nazim Rizvi's arrest for alleged links with the underworld. The film's world rights and the rights to its negatives rest with Shah.

On Monday, Special judge A P Bhangale appointed Santosh Singh Jain, president of the Central Circuit Cine Association, as receiver for the film after the police objected to having film-maker Mahesh Bhatt as the receiver. Shah had asked for Bhatt to be named receiver.
