At least 25 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 18 of their bunkers destroyed in retaliatory firing by Indian troops along the Line of Control in Jammu-Poonch sector in the past two days, defence sources said on Wednesday.
Thirteen Pakistan soldiers were killed on Wednesday and 12 on Tuesday when Indian troops repulsed Pakistani firing in Noushera, Laam, Bhawani, Kerni, Bhimbergali, Balakote, Krishnagati, Gambhir, Poonch and Mendhar, the sources said.
One truck and 11 houses were damaged and an ex-serviceman and a woman wounded on the Indian side, they said.
The houses went up in flames in village Gallard along the international border, the sources said.
The sources said Indian troops replied effectively with heavy mortar shelling killing 13 Pakistani soldiers and destroying 18 of their bunkers all along LoC and international border on Wednesday.
The sources said Kerni in Poonch sector witnessed intense exchange of fire, adding a patrol depot was blown up on other side of the border.
