Suicide bomb attack in Israeli city of Haifa

The relations between Israel and Palestine suffered another body blow on Sunday, when an unidentified suicide bomber blew himself up at a busy intersection in the northern Israeli port city of Haifa wounding 11 persons.

The intersection was crowded with cars and the bus stops were packed with people when the suicide bomb attack took place.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the police suspect the radical Palestinian groups, Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

The two radical groups have carried out a series of attacks in the last fortnight.

Last Sunday, a suicide bomber blew himself up on a Haifa bus, killing himself and 15 other people, a day after two suicide bombers hit downtown Jerusalem, killing 10.

On Saturday, another victim of Jerusalem blast, a 17-year-old, died of his wounds. Hamas claimed responsibility for both attacks.
