Spats in Parliament must be limited: PM

Tara Shankar Sahay in New Delhi

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Friday emphasised in the Lok Sabha that there should be a limit to the allegations and counter allegations between the government and the opposition.

Addressing the House before it was adjourned sine die on the last day of the monsoon session of Parliament, he pointed out that a decrease in the bitterness between the two sections of the House would create a conducive atmosphere.

He also praised Speaker G M Balayogi for taking steps to usher discipline among the members. He pointed out that the government had never shied away from discussing various issues in the House, and the government was marching ahead with its economic development programme.
