CBI complains against Laloo's counsel for threat

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday complained to the Patna special court that Laloo Prasad's counsel, C R Sinha, had made a threatening call to Inspector R K Sinha, who is the investigating officer in the disproportionate assets case.

Inspector Sinha, while deposing before the court of the designated CBI judge S K Mishra, in course of examination of witnesses on Friday afternoon, submitted a petition to the judge complaining against C R Sinha.

The CBI official stated that his wife received a phone call at their residence late on Wednesday night, and the caller used indecent language while enquiring about his whereabouts.

On Thursday morning, Sinha's wife received another call and the caller identified himself as C R Sinha, who asked her whether the CBI officer was available as Laloo wanted to talk to him.

When she said R K Sinha had left for office the caller accused her of lying.

The petition is likely to be taken up by the court and Laloo's counsel may reply next week.

The disproportionate assets case charges Laloo with accumulation of huge wealth worth over Rs 4.7 million disproportionate to his known sources of income when he was the Chief Minister during 1990-97.
