US Congressional delegation
meets Musharraf

A three-member bipartisan US Congressional delegation has met Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and discussed the political and international situation with him, Online news agency reported.

Senator Bob Graham, Democratic chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, headed the delegation. The meeting took place on Tuesday.

Its other members were Senator Jon Kyl (Republican - Arizona) and Porter Goss (Republican - Florida), chairman of the House of Representatives' Select Committee on Intelligence.

The discussion focused on various aspects of the Pakistan-US relations. Both sides underlined the traditional close ties between Islamabad and Washington.

Musharraf, who seized power in a military coup in October 1999, informed the delegation about the government's reform agenda and the steps being taken to restore democracy.

The two sides also discussed Jammu and Kashmir and Afghanistan. Later, the delegation called on Foreign Minister Abdul Sattar.
