India-Australia strategic dialogue
begins Thursday

India and Australia will hold the first round of a strategic dialogue in New Delhi on Thursday on a wide spectrum of subjects, including issues of international and regional security.

The two sides will exchange views on contribution towards maintaining regional and strategic stability, identify areas of mutual cooperation in related issues and discuss ways to build mutual trust and confidence.

The Indian delegation will be led by Joint Secretary Sheel Kant Sharma, while the Australian side will be led by First Assistant Secretary Bitterson.
