Delhi cops arrest two drug dealers

The Delhi police said on Saturday that they had arrested a Nigerian and a Malawi national on charges of supplying cocaine to the rich and famous in the Indian capital.

The police tracked them down following the arrest of an Afghan drug dealer, Nakibullah alias Ali, late on Friday night while he was supplying one gram of cocaine to Neeraj Wadhera, an executive manager of Hans Plaza, a city hotel.

The Nigerian national, Chinadu Olisabnezi, and his Malawi friend, Jonathan alias Jojo, were arrested on Saturday afternoon from their residence in Malviya Nagar in south Delhi.

The police said 70 grams of cocaine was seized from Olisabnezi and 65 grams of the drug from Jojo.

"We are trying to find out how they used to get the supply and for how long they were operating in the city," Chand said.

The police said raids were still on in several parts of the city.

Earlier this month, anti-narcotics agents arrested four Nigerians with cocaine capsules, which they had brought with them from Pakistan.

The police said cocaine was far costlier from the more easily available heroin and was brought to India from Colombia through the drug routes of Europe, Africa and Pakistan.
