Rashtriya Janata Dal president Laloo Prasad Yadav on Saturday expelled Ranjan Yadav, Nagmani and Dhamma Viriyo from the party for six years for anti-party activities. The decision came at the end of the first day of the two-day national executive meeting in Patna.
While Ranjan Yadav and Dhamma Viriyo are members of the Rajya Sabha, Nagmani is a Lok Sabha MP. All of them did not turn up at the national executive meeting.
Laloo Yadav told newspersons that Rajya Sabha Chairman Krishna Kant and Lok Sabha Speaker G M C Balayogi have been informed of the decision.
Besides Nagmani, two more of the RJD's seven Lok Sabha MPs - Sukh Deo Paswan and Anwarul Haq - and six of the 10 Rajya Sabha members did not attend the meeting, though some MLAs loyal to Ranjan, like Munazir Hasan and Akhilesh Pratap Singh participated in the meeting.
The Rajya Sabha members who stayed away were Ranjan Prasad Yadav, Kumkum Rai, Bhante Dhamma Viriyo, Saroj Dubey, Mahendra Prasad and Prem Kumar Gupta.
