Another chargesheet in fodder scam case

The Central Bureau of Investigation is likely to file the much-awaited chargesheet in the multi-million fodder scam case RC 47(a) within a couple of days, sources said.

The case, which pertained to fraudulent withdrawal of more than Rs 1.80 billion from the Doranda treasury, was being given final touches by the investigating agency.

The agency had been granted the required sanction by Jharkhand Governor Prabhat Kumar, Bihar Governor Vinod Chandra Pande as well as the Centre since it involved a horde of officers of the India Administrative Services, the Animal Husbandry Department of undivided Bihar and politicians, including two former chief ministers of Bihar, a Member of Parliament and two former ministers of the state.

The CBI has so far filed chargesheets in 41 of the 64 cases in the multi-million fodder scam, of which 13 relate to Disproportionate Assets.

Among these, two have been filed against Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Laloo Prasad Yadav and Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi.

Sources said former chief ministers Laloo Prasad Yadav and Jagannath Mishra and a Congress MP figured in RC 47(a).

Of the 39 chargesheets filed in connection with the regular fodder scam cases, two had been filed in Ranchi after the creation of Jharkhand. The chargesheets had been filed in connection with the RC 46 (A) and 49 (A).
