E-Mail this report to a friend

Minister of State for External Affairs Ajit Panja Sunday discussed with Iraqi President Saddam Hussain ways and means to strengthen Indo-Iraq ties.

Panja, leading a 35-member business delegation on a two-day visit, held talks with Hussein for nearly an hour, Indian embassy sources said in Dubai.

India and Iraq had flourishing trade and cultural contacts till 1990 which slumped after the Gulf War and the subsequent United Nations sanctions.
