Five killed in freak mishap

Five persons were electrocuted and eight others seriously injured when a person sitting atop a bus came in contact with a high-tension wire at Khokhsa chowk under Desri police station in Vaishali district on Friday, officials said.

District Magistrate of Vaishali Gautam Goswami said that the injured were rushed to hospitals in Patna and Hajipur where their condition was stated to be critical. He said a person was sitting on the roof of a Hajipur-bound bus from Samastipur when he suddenly came in contact with a high-tension wire leading to the casualties.
