Two escaped Pakistani spies nabbed within 12 hoursKamla Bora in Jaipur Two Pakistani spies, who escaped from custody in Churu district, were nabbed by the police within 12 hours. Mohammad Ikhlaq and Suleiman Bhatti, arrested on the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan, were being taken to Ganganagar from Jaipur with armed police escort when they escaped from a state roadways bus on Saturday night, police officials said. The escorting police personnel were apparently asleep when the two stepped out of the bus between Sri Dungargarh and Bidasar towns. The bus left Jaipur at 10 pm on Saturday. The policemen panicked when they did not find the prisoners just five kilometres before Bidasar and informed the Sri Dungargarh police station, which reported the matter to the Bikaner police range headquarters. A manhunt was launched under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General Pukhraj Sirvi. Villagers in Riri in Churu district said the prisoners were sighted in a nearby forest. The spies were apprehended Sunday afternoon on the outskirts of Bhaironsingh-Ka-Baas village. Four police escorts, including sub-inspector Jitendra Singh, have been suspended. The spies were taken back to the central interrogation centre at Jaipur, where Inter Services Intelligence agents and others are questioned. The police had arrested the duo near Ghadsana town in Ganganagar district near the Indo-Pakistan border early this year. The police said they were Pakistanis sent by the ISI. They had extensive training in gathering information about military installations and other related matters, the police added.
