Telecom strike called off as govt accepts demandsMore than 300,000 striking workers of the telecom unions called off their strike late Friday night as Communications Minister Ram Vilas Paswan agreed to their demands. ''There were some misunderstandings with the federations. Had these been sorted out the strike could have ended amicably much earlier,'' Paswan said in New Delhi. "The employees' interest will remain secure,'' the minister assured the two striking federations after his airdash to Delhi from Bhopal, Friday night. He said an agreement was reached between the National Federation of Telecom Employees and Federation of National Telecom Organisations and Department of Telecom Services. The agreement includes:
