The Pakistan-based militant outfit Lakshar-e-Tayiba Thursday warned women in Kashmir that if they do not use the veil while on streets they would be shot in their legs.

"If any woman is found without a purdah, they will be fired on the legs," the LET command council said in a statement released to newspapers in Srinagar.

It also warned cable operators in Kashmir valley to stop relaying with immediate effect all channels, except the British Broadcasting Corporation, Pakistan TV and National Geographic channels, the statement said.
