E-Mail this report to a friend

Five people were killed and several others wounded in a bomb blast in a crowded market of Lahore on Thursday, police said.

The crude bomb, tied to a motorcycle, went off in Dharmapura market at around 17.45 hours local time, when there was a crowd of shoppers, killing two persons on the spot, police said. Three of the injured died later.

The blast damaged several shops and caused a stampede.

No one has claimed the responsibility for the blast.

This is the second blast in Lahore within a week. Three people were killed and dozens injured when a bomb went off at a bus-stop in the city on Sunday.
