Curfew relaxed in Biharsharif,
missing family traced

Even as curfew was relaxed in Biharsharif for four hours Thursday, District Magistrate Rajesh Agrawal said the four female members of Mohammad Aslam's family missing since Monday had been traced and sent to their native village Kawakole in neighbouring Nawada district.

Efforts by rediff.com to contact the four, however, yielded no result.

Aslam, his wife, mother-in-law and two daughters were dragged out of a bus by a mob on Monday. The bus was on its way to Nawada from Patna.

While Aslam managed to escape, his family was reported missing.

Another person, who was travelling in the bus and was reported missing, has been traced too.

Biharsharif has been witnessing communal trouble in the past few days over the construction of a temple of goddess Durga on a disputed piece of land at Ambair Chowk in the town.

The district administration has arrested the father, uncle and cousin of Dr Sunil Kumar, the man who allegedly fomented trouble in the town.

Dr Kumar fought election as an Independent candidate in the February assembly elections.
