Pak terms Putin's statement
on Indo-Pak talks positive

Terming as "positive" Russian President Vladimir Putin's call for concrete efforts for resumption of Indo-Pak talks, Pakistan has asked India to adopt a "realistic" approach to the Kashmir issue.

Reacting to Putin's remarks on Kashmir during his address to the Indian Parliament, a foreign office spokesman said Islamabad has repeatedly stressed that no problem can be solved without dialogue.

The spokesman, however, chose to ignore Putin's reference that foreign interference in Jammu and Kashmir should stop and that there should be absolute respect for the Line of Control.

"India should accept repeated offers for talks by Chief Executive General Pervez Musharraf who has expressed willingness to have a dialogue with New Delhi at any level, any time and at any place," the spokesman was Thursday quoted by English daily The News as saying.
