Petroleum dealers call off strike

The proposed October 6 strike of petroleum dealers has been called off.

The decision was conveyed by the various associations to Petroleum Minister Ram Naik, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pramod Mahajan told newspersons in New Delhi after the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs meeting.

The strike was called to protest the alleged inaction of oil companies and the petroleum minister to solve their demands and grievances.

Their demands include instructing the oil companies to provide octane testers/markers system, mini labs at all dealer retailer outlets, increase in dealer commission and temperature variation allowance.
