RSP (B) joins UDF in Kerala

E-Mail this report to a friend

The Revolutionary Socialist Party (B), which quit the ruling Left Democratic Front in Kerala recently, was on Tuesday formally inducted into the Congress-led United Democratic Front.

Briefing newspersons here after a meeting of the UDF high-power committee, front convenor K Sankaranarayanan said the decision to accommodate the RSP (B), headed by Baby John, as the eighth constituent of the UDF was unanimous.

He said the presence of a senior leader like Baby John would be an asset to the UDF. With the induction of the RSP (B), the strength of the UDF in the state assembly had gone up by three.

Three of the five MLAs of the RSP had quit the party and formed the RSP (B) on May 1 last year.
