Cong-TMC govt wins trust in Pondicherry

The six-day old Congress-Tamil Maanila Congress coalition government headed by P Shanmugham in the Union territory of Pondicherry won the confidence vote in the territorial assembly, today.

Shanmugham moved the motion seeking the confidence of the assembly, though it was not on the agenda, when the house assembled.

After a voice vote, deputy speaker M Kandasami announced that the government enjoyed the support of 20 members as against the opposition's 13.
