Pak fishing in troubled waters: Moscow Radio

E-Mail this report to a friend

Moscow Radio has warned that Pakistan was fishing in troubled waters by extending material and logistic support to terrorists in Kashmir.

Though Russia's state-controlled radio refrained from commenting on the autonomy resolution adopted by the Jammu and Kashmir assembly, it pointed out that the edifice of religious extremism would collapse like a house of cards, the moment Islamabad ceased to aid and abet the terrorists.

The radio made a special reference to Osama Bin Laden, who had issued a fresh call last week to ''liberate the Kashmir valley'' from the rule of non-Muslims. His call was circulated all over Pakistan through pamphlets.

Moscow Radio said a similar situation prevailed in Chechnya. It said both the areas have been under attacks from local insurgents patronised by alien forces.

Afghanistan's Taliban movement is the connecting thread, it said.
