Delhi cops bust sex scandal

E-Mail this report to a friend

The Delhi police have busted a sex scandal involving exploitation of Japanese girls and have arrested six people, including the son of a Nagaland police inspector.

The arrests followed a complaint filed by two Japanese girls - Nano (24) and Noriko Ota (29) - both residents of Tokyo. The complainant had alleged that two boys - Zahid alias Bobby and John Stephen alias Karan - extorted about Rs 12 lakh from them after promising marriage.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Muktesh Chander said all the accused worked as tourist guides in Agra before shifting base to Delhi. They used to 'hunt' for gullible victims in the Paharganj area, a favourite haunt of low-budget tourists.

The accused befriended tourists, mostly Japanese girls, took them for sight-seeing, and raped them. This would follow with mock engagements and promises of marriage. They also asked the girls to give them money, saying it was an Indian tradition.

While Stephen and five others have already been arrested, police are now looking for Zahid.
