E-Mail this report to a friend

Former Bihar chief minister and multi-million rupee fodder scam accused Jagannath Mishra surrendered before the Central Bureau of Investigation court in Patna on Wednesday.

After surrendering in the court of S K Lal, he filed a petition for bail.

The court, taking cognisance of the chargesheet filed by the CBI on May 11, had issued a non-bailable warrant against Dr Mishra the same day in connection with one of the conspiracy angle cases of the scam.

The CBI had sought permission from then Governor Suraj Bhan on October 8 for prosecuting Dr Mishra and 51 other accused in the case, related with fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 30 million from Dumka treasury in 1995-96.
