The Central Bureau of Investigation special court Monday reserved the order regarding framing of charges against chief minister Rabri Devi and her husband, Rashtiya Janata Dal chief Laloo Prasad Yadav, in the disproportionate asset case, till June 9.

This follows the completion of argument by counsels of Laloo and Rabri and the CBI.

Earlier, CBI counsel L R Ansari said that Laloo's income was from the fodder scam and that his wife abetted him. He said that there was no need for the CBI to seek the governor's sanction to prosecute Rabri as she was not a public servant between 1991 and 1996.

He rebutted the charge that there was any malafide intention in the delay in filing the case. He said the bureau was examining important documents as the income-tax case is related to the fodder scam, leading to a delay in filing the First Information Report.

The CBI counsel said that suspicion was enough for charges to be framed against Laloo and Rabri.

While Rabri was not present in court, her husband appeared for a brief period before the recess.
