US blasts Pak over judges' removal: AFP

E-Mail this report to a friend

The United States has blasted Pakistan for a clampdown on the country's judiciary, registering deepening concerns over the policies of military ruler General Pervez Musharraf.

State department spokesman James Rubin said Islamabad's decision to force judges to swear loyalty oaths was a slap in the face to any pretence of democratisation in Pakistan following last October's coup and reiterated a warning to the government against supporting terrorists.
