Police, army clueless on Red Fort attack

Even 48 hours after militants stormed the Red Fort, the Delhi police and the army remained clueless about the whereabouts of two Pakistan-based Lashker-e-Tayiba militants who killed three persons including two army jawans.

The Delhi police Sunday carried out searches in various places in and around the national capital and questioned several people in connection with the Friday night shoot-out inside the Red Fort premises. But no arrest has been made so far.

Police had raided several guest houses in the walled city and some places in south Delhi, which are known to be militant hideouts, senior Delhi Police officials told PTI.

The special cell of the city police which is probing the incident questioned several suspected people in the capital, the officials said.

In a Fidayeen (suicide) attack, the first of its kind in the national capital, suspected militants of Pakistan-based Lashkar barged into the Red Fort premises on Friday night and shot dead three persons including two armymen.

Delhi Police has sounded a "red alert" in the capital.

No one from the army was available for comments on the progress in the case.
