Hyderabad's Diya Mirza is Miss Asia Pacific

Women from India achieved a rare triple when Diya Mirza of Hyderabad won the Miss Asia Pacific 2000 title on Saturday night, making a clean sweep of the top three beauty pageants in the world in a single calendar year.

Earlier, Lara Dutta had won the Miss Universe 2000 title followed by Priyanka Chopra, who won the Miss World 2000 title just two days earlier.

The only other time Indian women had won at least two of the titles in the same year was in 1994 when Sushmita Sen was crowned Miss Universe and Aishwarya Rai became Miss World.
