India hands over bodies of two Pakistani soldiers: PTI

E-Mail this report to a friend

India Wednesday handed over bodies of two Pakistani soldiers with full military honours at Suchetgarh border post near R S Pora in Jammu.

The two soldiers -- Abdul Majid and Abdul Ghali -- were killed when Pakistani troops made an unsuccessful attempt to capture a forward post on the Line of Control in Poonch sector on August 24, an army spokesman said.

Indian forces had repulsed the attack resulting in a hasty withdrawal of Pakistani troops who left behind two dead soldiers and three weapons.

The spokesman said that at the handing over ceremony Pakistani officials had also brought one dead body, claiming it to be of an Indian soldier. "On identification check, it was found that the dead body was not of an Indian soldier", he said.
