E-Mail this report to a friend

Four persons, including two Central Reserve Police Force personnel, were killed and as many injured in a landmine explosion detonated by Bodo militants in lower Assam's Kokrajhar district on Friday.

Police said the extremists triggered the powerful improvised explosive devise planted under a bridge at Lalkura when the security personnel were returning from a night-long search operation at nearby Chaibari around 0530 hours (IST).

The deceased included two civilians who were picked up by the security personnel for possessing arms and ammunition, the police said. The injured had been admitted to hospital.

Senior district civil and police officials cordoned off the site.
