142 bodies recovered from Gulf Air crash siteRescue crews have found 142 bodies from the crash site of the Gulf Air plane that came down in the sea near Bahrain with 143 people aboard, an airline spokesman informed on Thursday. The plane was on its way to Bahrain from Cairo, Egypt. Reports from Cairo say relatives of passengers on the ill-fated Airbus A320 gathered late Wednesday night at the airline's offices at Cairo airport demanding details. "Nobody has given us any information," Marzuk Abdelatif Shaladi repeated as he cried. Some demanded details about the crash, which was carrying 63 Egyptian passengers out of the 135 aboard when it plunged into the sea near the end of its flight from Cairo. About one third of the 63 were aged 18 or under. "She is still alive, she is still alive," repeated a weeping man as he emerged from a room in Cairo's new airport where the families had gathered. Egyptian security personnel had blocked off Gulf Air offices in the city, granting entry only to those close to the flight's passengers. "Let us in, We want to know what's going on even if it means we'll go to jail," cried one Egyptian in his 50s. Later, an airline official said Gulf Air was arranging a special flight from Cairo to transport relatives to Bahrain as soon as possible. EARLIER REPORT
