Close shave for 55 Alliance Air passengers: PTI

All 55 passengers on board an Alliance Air flight had a miraculous escape on Thursday after the Boeing 737 aircraft suffered a bird-hit but landed safely just after take-off from Madras.

The pilot of the Madras-Bangalore-Mangalore flight noticed the bird-hit barely 10 miniutes after take off at 0600 hours and immediately returned to the airport.

An Alliance Air Boeing 737 crashed recently in Patna, killing about 60 people, including six crew members and five people on the ground.

Alliance Air said alternative arrangements had been made for passengers to go to their destinations.
