Samajwadi Party disrupts LS: PTI

E-Mail this report to a friend

Proceedings in the Lok Sabha were disrupted soon after the House assembled for question hour Thursday morning with Samajwadi Party members protesting against the "breakdown of law and order" in Uttar Pradesh.

Repeated requests by Speaker G M C Balayogi to members to allow question hour to continue failed to pacify them as they moved into the well of the House waving newspaper reports about the situation in the state.

"There is a procedure, raise it during zero hour," a visibly annoyed Speaker said. But his ruling failed to have any effect on the members forcing the chair to order switching off the live telecast of the proceedings.

The din continued for about 15 minutes before order was restored and the question hour resumed.
