Crude bomb blast near UP Vidhan Sabha: PTI

A crude bomb exploded on Tuesday outside the Cooperative Department building in Lucknow, 100 metres away from Vidhan Sabha, but caused no casualties, police said.

The explosion occurred less than 10 hours after a bomb exploded in a passenger train near Faizabad, leaving nine people dead and two injured in Kanpur on Monday night.

According to SSP B B Bakshi, the explosion outside the building is believed to be the handiwork of anti-social elements.

No one was injured as all shops and offices in the vicinity were closed on account of Independence Day.

Eight people, including four policemen and a lady corporator, were seriously injured as two powerful exploded in quick succession in Kanpur on Monday night.
