Framing of charges against Laloo, Mishra put offThe designated court of the CBI today deferred the hearing on the issue of framing charges against two former Bihar chief ministers -- Laloo Prasad Yadav and Dr Jagannath Mishra -- and others in connection with a conspiracy angle case of the multi-crore rupee fodder scam. Special judge S K Lal was not present in the court and the matter would again be heard on May 4. The special court also adjourned to May 11 the hearing of another case relating to acquisition of disproportionate assets in which former chief minister Laloo Prasad Yadav along with his wife and Chief Minister Rabri Devi is accused. At present, Yadav is detained in Beur jail under judicial custody. His wife had been granted bail by the special judge in this case. However, counsel for the chief minister appeared on her behalf in the court today. Both the former chief ministers, along with former ministers Chandradeo Prasad Verma and Vidya Sagar Nishad, legislator R K Rana and others appeared before the court in connection with another fodder scam's regular case 64(a)/96 today. The case relates to the illegal withdrawals of about Rs 9.6 million from the Deogarh treasury by using fake bills. UNI
