President fires senior IPS officerKarnataka Backward Classes and Minorities Corporation Managing Director and former deputy commissioner of police K Narayan was today dismissed from the Indian Police Service with immediate effect by President K R Narayanan for his involvement in the murder of a lawyer from Kerala. According to an official release in Bangalore, Narayan was dismissed on the recommendation of the Union Public Service Commission, which examined the case. Narayan was convicted and sentenced to two years' rigorous imprisonment in the early Nineties by a Salem sessions court for his involvement in the murder of the lawyer, Rashid. UNI |
