RR jawans rescue 3 boys abducted by Kashmiri militants

E-Mail this report to a friend

Three teenaged Kashmiri boys who had been kidnapped by militants were rescued by a crack team of the Rashtriya Rifles at Kachchan in Ganderbal area of Kashmir valley today, defence sources said.

The boys, Mohammed Poto (17), M A Wani (16 ) and Shoukat Ali (18) had been kidnapped by pro-Pakistan Hizbul Mujahideen militants about a week back and were being taken across the Line of Control for arms training.

However, the matter was reported to the army by the family members of the three boys. The army went on the abductors' trail and finally spotted and surrounded them in the Kachchan area of Ganderbal, about 20 km from Srinagar.

After a brief encounter, the militants abandoned the boys and fled.

The entire area was cordoned off and search is on for the militants.

This is the second such incident during the past two weeks where RR jawans rescued Kashmiri boys who had been abducted by militants and were being taken across the border for arms training.
