E-Mail this report to a friend

Security forces killed four foreign militants while two women were injured by militants in north Kashmir since last evening.

Official sources said militants attacked a security force search party with automatic weapons at Padergund in the frontier district of Kupwara last evening. The forces returned the fire and in the encounter three foreign militants were killed. A large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the slain militants.

The security forces also gunned down a militant of Al-Fateh force, a resident of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir Hyder, at Bahak in the same district last evening. Sources said unidentified militants entered the house of a surrendered militant at Sumbal and fired upon the inmates indiscriminately with automatic weapons. Two women were injured and were later admitted to a hospital in a very critical condition.
