Probe ordered into disrobing of Bihar nun

E-Mail this report to a friend

The Bihar government has ordered a high-level probe into the incident of disrobing of a nun in Saran district on September 20.

State Home Secretary U N Panjiyar said today that a team of senior police officers had been sent to Chapra to investigate the matter. He felt that the first information report lodged two days after the incident might hamper the probe.

According to the report, the nun belonging to the Chapra-based St Joseph's convent was abducted and stripped by two unidentified miscreants who allegedly forced her to drink urine.

The incident occurred at a deserted spot after the perpetrators took her there in an auto-rickshaw.

The church authorities have lodged the FIR with the town police station in Chapra.
