Three militants killed in J&K

At least three militants were killed and two injured in separate encounters with security forces in the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch since last evening.

A defence spokesman said in Jammu that security forces conducted a search operation at Bagunwali village near Dogarian in Surrankote tehsil of Poonch district last evening. During the operations, an encounter took place between militants and security forces in which one militant was killed. Two magazines, two hand grenades, two rifle grenades, one pouch and 58 rounds were recovered from the slain militant.

In another incident security forces observed suspicious movement of three people in the Morha area in the same district last evening. When security forces challenged them they were fired upon heavily and in the ensuing encounter one militant was killed while his two associates fled, taking advantage of darkness. One AK rifle along with assorted ammunition and explosives were recovered from the encounter site.
